About this role

Essential Functions

• Makes recommendations for the hiring of department staff. Trains staff and evaluates performance expectations for all direct reports. Provides timely and constructive communication to employees and recognizes outstanding efforts; takes corrective actions following the Discipline Without Punishment Model when needed.

• Assure the development and implementation of person-centered plans that promote positive outcomes for individuals and/or their families and support teams and maintains compliance with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Accreditation Standards.

• Assure employees' performances meet established department expectations through the on-going monitoring and oversight of routine work activities. Utilize department tracking systems to evaluate job performances to recognize exemplary work as well as to identify trends and patterns in areas of deficiency and take corrective action in a timely manner.

• Responsible for training team members on all department approved procedures for internal practices as well as DODD Rule implementation.

• Monitor caseload capacity and assignments.

• Monitor case note quality and compliance aligned with targeted case management standards.

• Assist in crisis intervention and emergency placements.

• Conduct 1:1 meetings with all direct reports as well as monthly team meetings to ensure all departmental and Board standards are understood and implemented accurately. Takes information shared in department, supervisor, and other applicable meetings/trainings and uses it to further develop their teams' knowledge and understanding to execute desired outcomes. Maintain knowledge of Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBWS) Services by attending meetings, trainings, and seminars/conferences to develop knowledge of current rule requirements.

• Assist SSA with developing and monitoring an individual's annual budget. Approves all referrals for accessibility adaptations and specialized equipment needs as well as prior authorizations and locally funded authorizations.

• Act as back-up support for SSA assigned to emergency on-call rotation as assigned.

• Works with the Data Management Coordinator to develop programs and databases needed within the SSA department.

• Review and approve various administrative functions (e.g., timecards, leave requests, reimbursement requests, change of work location forms, etc.).

• May participate in various committees within the agency or as a representative of the Board with community partners and other stakeholders linked to the coordination of services.

• Understanding of the impact of trauma on an individual's choices and application of principles that guide a Trauma Responsive agency.
