Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning of daily routine, periodic, and annual shutdown work orders for maintenance employees and contractors with the objective of minimizing total maintenance cost and effort by maximizing maintenance work force efficiency and productivity and ultimately machine reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling (80%)

• Evaluate work requests, develop scope of work, inspect job location to determine job requirements - verify availability of parts, order necessary parts and verify receipt of parts before scheduling job to be completed

• Estimate labor hours, manpower, parts, materials, equipment, special tools required to complete jobs in a safe and cost-effective manner

• Analyze and update Preventative Maintenance Plans to ensure accuracy and effectiveness

• Compile relevant technical documentation, such as drawings, schematics, specifications, spare parts lists from equipment histories, and OEM manuals

• Ensure equipment files are up to date and organized

Leadership & Coaching (20%)

• Conduct and lead planning and scheduling meetings with production to determine work order priorities, communicate work order status and alter planned activities as necessary

• Facilitate root-cause analysis for equipment failures based on pre-determined trigger points; ensure effective documentation of findings

• Develop and maintain metrics to track overall effectiveness of planning and execution of work within the maintenance department

• Train identified employees on CMMS and ensure compliance with the system parameters

• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crawl to evaluate equipment

• Work in manufacturing environment – daily exposure to noise, variation of temperatures – heat/cold

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

• May require work on alternative shifts, evenings, weekends

Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:

• Comply with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality including lockout tag out, GMP's, HACCP, Allergen and Blommer specific policies and procedures

• Must wear uniform, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, safety gear specific to work activity, when on plant floor

Performance Expectations:

• Communicate with others to address issues and coordinate work activities

• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition

• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct

• Ensure all metrics and downtime reports are completed

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

• Five (5) plus years' maintenance experience in manufacturing environment with heavy processing equipment

• One (1) plus years' experience maintenance/planning in an industrial manufacturing setting

• Advanced experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel

• Working knowledge of effective preventative/predictive maintenance methods and processes

• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems and components

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or any related discipline with equivalent experience in related field
