What you'll do:
• Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder
• Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified in drawings, work orders or verbal instructions
• Operates machinery, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job's needs
• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications
• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, drawings or work orders
• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other jobs as needed
• Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notifying supervisor if any equipment needs repairs
• Willing and able to work on heavy equipment
What you'll need:
• Welding certification required
• Some experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Must be 18 years of age
Working Conditions:
• Works outdoors in all climates.
• Exposed to loud noise, dusty environment.
• Able to climb and work 80 feet or higher, and to stoop, bend or kneel in the review and inspection of plant operations and equipment.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Full mobility of hands
• Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, leather work shoes, hearing protectors, respirator, gloves and other safety equipment that may be required for the project.
