About this role
The University of Virginia Department of Mathematics is seeking a reliable and professional Administrative Assistant to provide front-office and administrative support. This position serves as a key point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Administrative Assistant will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department through a variety of administrative and customer service responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors. • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries. • Assist with key checkout and tracking procedures. • Provide visitor parking information and permits when needed. • Support faculty, staff, students, and visitors with administrative requests. • Maintain office records, files, and departmental resources. • Assist with departmental events, seminars, and special projects. • Perform other administrative and office support duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Current UVA undergraduate student. FWS eligibility is required. Experience: None Licensure: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
