Overview of role:

Supporting children's learning through play and planned activities. Helping children develop social, emotional, language, and physical skills. Assisting with daily routines, including meals, toileting, and personal hygiene. Supervising children indoors and outdoors. Observing children's progress and reporting concerns to nursery staff. Preparing and setting up learning resources and activities. Ensuring health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed. Supporting children with additional needs where required. Building positive relationships with parents and carers.

Key details:

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, 30 min lunch break, 37.5 hrs per week

• Term-time only

• Wage: £16,507.92 per year

• Location: Leeds Road, Attercliffe, Sheffield, S9 3TY

Apprenticeship details:

• Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

• Duration of course: 19 months

• Training Provider: LMP Education

• All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside placement at the nursery.

Full Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the nursery.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, consistent with the role.

• Always comply with the nursery’s equal opportunities policy while performing duties.

• Contribute to the nursery as a whole, being mindful of where assistance is most needed and always considering the needs of the children.

• Respect the confidentiality of all information received.

• Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment that meets the needs of all individual children.

• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with parents/carers to support the day-to-day care and early learning needs of children.

• Uphold the nursery's standards and maintain its positive profile at all times.

• GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
