What will you do?

We are looking for a dedicated Science Teacher IB MYP to join our team for the current academic year and continue into 2026–2027 as our student numbers expand. You will effectively teach classes drawn from a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds, including students for whom English may not be their first language.

We are the Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus are seeking a passionate and experienced Science Teacher

We are also in the process of building our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site which is to be completed approximately by the end of 2027 and will include kindergarten, elementary and high school, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Instruction & Delivery: Effectively teach biology classes (MYP 4–5) and general science classes covering physics, chemistry, and biology foundations (MYP 1–3).

• Curriculum Development: Plan, create, and develop the science curriculum, including unit plans, teaching materials, and resources that align strictly with IB MYP standards.

• Assessment & Feedback: Plan, prepare, and assess formative and summative assignments. Participate in MYP assessment standardization and provide meaningful feedback to students, parents, and school administration.

• Student-Centric Environment: Apply differentiation where needed to support and drive the progress of all learners. Adapt teaching methods specifically for students whose first language may not be English.

• Pastoral Support: Undertake a Homeroom teacher/tutor role to support the academic tracks of students and maintain proactive communication with parents.

• Collaboration: Create and maintain a safe learning environment in class. Attend school meetings, training sessions, and collaborative planning blocks to build curriculum alongside colleagues.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Regulatory Compliance: Per Cyprus regulations, applicants must have a university degree recognized by KYSATS (The Cyprus Council of Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications) and the ability to pass a background check.

• Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree specifically in Biology, Physics, or Chemistry. Additional degrees or specializations in these core fields, alongside formal Teaching Qualifications, are highly valued.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. Teaching experience within the IB MYP framework is highly desirable.

• Language Proficiency: Must be fully fluent in English.

Bonus Skills/Experience

• IB teaching experience but not mandatory

• Other languages like Russian, Ukrainian or Hebrew

• Private School Teaching experience

Working Conditions

• Teaching Load: 19 classes per week.

• Working Hours: 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00, depending on schedules.
