Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements: We require a degree in Engineering or a related subject.We require full membership of an appropriate engineering institution and Chartered Engineer status.We require extensive experience in force-level system-of-systems architectural design and maritime defence integration.We require strong expertise in C2 systems, distributed infrastructure, cyber security and digital engineering.We require applicants to meet security and export control restrictions applicable to the role.All applicants must achieve at least Baseline Personnel Security Standard.Some roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, typically involving 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required. Responsibilities: We provide technical leadership in the architecture, design, integration and assurance of mission-critical command and control systems and hosting infrastructure for future maritime platforms.We define architectural strategies that enable Hybrid Navy capabilities.We ensure solutions are modular, secure, resilient, interoperable and scalable across multiple domains and coalition environments.We work closely with customers, programmes, suppliers and industry partners to influence strategic direction.We champion modern digital technologies and open architectures.We deliver robust disaggregated mission system solutions that support operational effectiveness, future growth and export opportunities.We lead end-to-end C2 and infrastructure architecture strategy and governance.We define scalable, secure hosting environments supporting mission-critical operations.We champion open architectures, interoperability standards and digital engineering approaches.We embed cyber resilience, assurance and compliance throughout architectural designs.We influence customers, partners and programmes to align architectural direction.We ensure high-performance, reliable and future-ready command and control solutions. We are BAE Systems, offering a role within our Naval Ships Combat Systems business as part of a highly skilled team of system architects shaping the future of maritime mission systems. The role is based in Portsmouth (Broad Oak) or Frimley, Filton, or Dorchester, with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days on site, routine travel to other southern BAE sites within the UK, and occasional international travel.
