Job summary

OT (working in the Community Learning Disability Team) in Berkshire Healthcare NHS-Learning Disability Service- Fixed Term Contract

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Community OT Band 6, (37.5hours per week),FIXED TERM contract12 Months) to work in our Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities in the Bracknell locality.

You will work with a diverse population in both urban and rural settings providing Community OT interventions based on identified needs, to adults who have a learning disability within any community setting. The post holder will also provide advice and support to families/carers and other provider agencies and their employees across Bracknell & Wokingham.

Registered OT with experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities

Current OT Registration

To hold a driving licence and have access to a car.

To have a good understanding of reasonable adjustment

Person Specification

Education, qualifications or training Essential

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy Professional Registration: HCPC

Previous Experience Essential

Previous Occupational Therapy experience within mental health or physical medicine or social services or voluntary agency

Desirable

Previous Occupational Therapy experience within Learning Disabilities Minimum Clinical Practice - 2 years

Knowledge, skills and abilities Desirable

Key skills and knowledge for the post e.g. occupational therapy interventions relevant to the post such as sensory integration, goal setting, research methodologies Knowledge of specialist field

Additional Requirements Essential

Car Driver/access to a car Driving licence
