About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a positive and adaptable person who holds their NVQ2 dispensary qualification (or is due to qualify in the next few months). You must be able to demonstrate relevant recent experience, and possess an adaptable and flexible mentality, as well as a desire to embed newly acquired knowledge and skills

To apply for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of dispensary requirements/legislation and be able to work well as part of a team but be equally comfortable to work on your own.

The role is suited to someone who is IT literate and who will be to work as part of the pharmacy and dispensary team across 2 sites, including the repeat prescribing and the clinical system, stock control, stock ordering and costs, problem solving, as well as dealing with our patients.

Main duties of the job

Dispensing acute prescriptions. Dispensing repeat prescriptions requests received by telephone calls, electronically, face to face and those delivered to the surgery. Dispensing private prescriptions. MDS dispensing for community and care home patients Dealing with returned medicines from patients Dealing with uncollected medication Handing out prescriptions and collecting charges when appropriate. Cashing up prescription moneys, balancing and recording Taking prescription repeats over the telephone and at in person from patients. Collecting private charges for vaccines and holiday prophylactic medication. Sorting, stamping and endorsing prescriptions. Submitting all unsigned prescriptions to the doctors, generating nurse prescriptions Completing backs of prescriptions. Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link. Checking goods as and when they are delivered and recording generic details. Returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers. Stocking shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas using rotation method. Removing out of date stock from the shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas. Disposal of returned unused medicines.

Stock Control Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link. Checking goods as and when they are delivered and recording generic details. Qualifications Essential

GCSEs A* - C (grade 9 4), must include Maths & English. NVQ2 Dispensing qualification or about to qualify
