We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and compassionate GP on a fixed-term contract. The contract will run until 31 March 2027.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our existing team of clinicians for 2 sessions per week, ideally Friday.

You will work as an autonomous practitioner providing high quality, evidence based, primary care services.

You will undertake a full range of general medical services in accordance with the NHS Contract andadhere to General Medical Council standards, contributingto effective practice management, and maintaining a positive and collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Bankfield Surgery is a kind caring practice located at the heart of the Elland Community with approx. 11,340 patients, close to the M62. We have a dedicated team of staff and Practice Champions to help to improve the health, wellbeing and lives of the patents we care for.

We provide a range of enhanced services including minor surgery, joint injections, womens health and enhanced access. We are a SystmOne practice with long standing team members, our clinical staff comprise of 5 GP partners, 1 GP Retainer, 1 Salaried GP, 2 ANPs and a highly trained nursing team who are all committed to patient care, as shown in our last CQC visit where we were rated GOOD in all areas.

Provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Prescribe medications appropriately, and make referrals to secondary care and community services when required. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using electronic patient record systems. Participate in multidisciplinary team working, clinical meetings, safeguarding activities, quality improvement initiatives, and practice development.

Fixed term contract ending 31st March 2027, 2 sessions per week.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

- Fully qualified GP with current General Medical Council (GMC) registration and license to practice - Strong commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues and wider healthcare teams

Desirable

- Local Knowledge & Enhanced Skills - Familiarity with local referral pathways, community services and prescribing formularies - Experience managing digital workflows efficiently including processing pathology results, clinical correspondence and repeat prescriptions
