About this role

Job summary

The GP Maternity Cover role has been established to provide continuity of high-quality general medical services during a period of planned maternity leave within the practice. The post will support the practice in maintaining safe, effective and accessible patient care while ensuring that the existing GP team is appropriately supported during the period of absence.

Job description Job responsibilities

The GP will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary practice team, undertaking routine and urgent clinical consultations, managing patients with acute and long-term conditions, and providing appropriate clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral. The role will also contribute to the wider clinical and operational requirements of the practice, in line with local policies, NHS standards and professional requirements.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes framework Experience of taking part/conducting clinical audit Ability to maintain patients records to an acceptable standard for audit purposes

Desirable

Experience of teaching in a healthcare environment Experience of the Systmone clinical system

Qualifications Essential

Medical degree Qualified to work as a GP in the UK A demonstrable commitment to professional development
