Phlebotomy is the skill of obtaining a blood sample by using varying techniques and equipment, whilst following trust guidance and policy.
The teams provide a warm and welcoming supportive learning environment and share a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist is not required as full supervised training will be provided.

Job description Job responsibilities
Excellent communication skills along with a pleasant , friendly and understanding disposition are essential for this role and previous experience of working with the general public would be an advantage.
This role will require the post holder to wear personal, protective, equipment (PPE) including masks, aprons and gloves as per trust guidance.
You must be able to work in a fast paced, high demand environment which sees a high turn over of patients daily.

Training & Qualifications Essential
oGCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English and Maths.
Desirable
oPrevious Phlebotomy /Venepuncture Experience within an acute trust.
Experience Essential
You will have a genuine interest in a career working in frontline services for people Knowledge of the Phlebotomy role. Able to follow a full venepuncture- training programme Good communication and telephone skills Understanding and respect of confidentiality in the workplace.
Desirable
Experience of working in an acute hospital environment
Communication and Relationship Skills Essential
Understands and practices the principles of confidentiality Able to minimise interpersonal conflict Computer literate (able to use MS Outlook, MS word, enter data onto excel spread sheets). Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work and communicate in a pro-active, responsive and professional manner. Ability to maintain good working relationships.
