About this role

Job summary

Are you an experienced Children's Nurse ready to lead, inspire, and shape the future of children's community nursing? South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Lead Nurse to join our CCN team to support children with complex needs in North & South Warwickshire and Rugby.

The post holder will have overall responsibility for the operational and clinical management of the Community Children's Nursing Team, within the Family Health speciality throughout South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust (SWFT)

Working across this area this service offers a diverse caseload across urban and rural settings. You'll work with a well-established team and benefit from strong community links.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will display excellent leadership skills, ensuring that the CCNT delivers high quality patient experience, and evidence-based care for children and young people (CYP). The post holder will be able to make informed decisions within the speciality and their scope of professional practice, involving the CYP/Parents/families to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives are achieved.

Job description Job responsibilities

The post holder will maintain effective relationships with the multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure continuity of care for the (CYP) within the CCN caseload.

The post holder will work collaboratively with key external stakeholders, conducting themselves in accordance with SWFT organisational principles and values at all times.

The post holder will have overall responsibility for clinical governance and operational management of the CCNT. This will involve ensuring a safe service is delivered to the CYP and families that access the service. This responsibility includes, ensuring all staff work within the competencies appropriate to their professional qualifications and grading. The post holder will provide an environment conducive to the needs of all nursing and other members of staff, meeting their learning and developmental requirements

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

RNC/RSCN Relevant Degree level of study or equivalent experience Diploma in management or relevant experience ENB 998 or equivalent Evidence of continuing professional development Leadership qualification

Desirable

MSc or working towards

Experience Essential

Minimum 3 years' experience at Band 7 or above Paediatric/community clinical experience Evidence of organisational and leadership skills Experience of change management and problem solving Working across organisational boundaries Team building and staff development Experience of nurse leadership and management of operational experience Experience of Budget management

Skills Essential

Understanding of NHS plan and external agencies Awareness of current professional issues Working knowledge of clinical governance Knowledge of and commitment to improving the patient experience Decision making skills Evidence of undertaking audit and developing action plans Excellent presentation and IT skills Proven ability of complex case management
