Main duties of the job As a Catering Assistant, you will assist catering staff with the preparation and cooking of meals, serve food and beverages, and maintain storage procedures. You'll ensure the cleanliness and hygiene standards of kitchen areas, liaise with dietitians regarding dietary meals, and support chefs to prepare meals. This role is within a dedicated kitchen team at Barnet Lane Clinic, a specialist Complex Care and Recovery Service supporting adults with complex needs who benefit from a more tailored, long-term recovery approach. The position offers 37.5 hours of work weekly, rotating across 4 days and every other weekend.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week. 8am to 6pm rotating across 4 days a week and every other weekend.
As a Catering Assistant you will be:
Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Serving service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages. Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation. Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly. As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures. Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable) Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP Experience of working within similar role. Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Where you will be working:

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
