POSITION: GEOLOGIST JOB GRADING: C UPPER DEPARTMENT: TECHNICAL SERVICE SITE: TARKWA Role Details: Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to employ a skilled and qualified Geologist to join the Technical Service Department. This position reports to the Senior Geologist – Technical Service. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing in-pit grade control, selective mining practices, RC logging and sampling, and Mine to Mill reconciliation to ensure optimal extraction of ore. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring effective and efficient ore mark-up or ore delineation in operational pits. Supervision of selective mining activities to minimize dilution and ore loss. In-pit geological mapping for grade control model update in accordance with Goldfields’ geological modelling protocols. Ensuring efficient daily tonnage and grade reconciliation between mined, crushed and plant feed. Ensuring effective communication and liaison with sectional supervisors for accurate and timeous mined to mill reconciliation data. Key Requirements: Minimum of a tertiary qualification in Geological Engineering, Mineral Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution. At least three (3) years’ relevant working experience in a Mineral or Geological engineering environment. Practical knowledge in Paleo-placer style ore deposits Valid Ghanaian driving licence Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate geological and geotechnical risks and hazards. Good planning, organizational, and time management skills. Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability. Knowledge of applicable standards, methods, and procedures related to the role. Ability to use initiative, take responsibility, and manage tasks through to completion
