Your role: Join our R&D Lab Water Solutions team and contribute to the development of the next generation of Milli-Q® ultrapure water purification instruments. As an Embedded Software Technical Lead (f/m), you will play a central role in turning system requirements into robust, integrable, and verifiable software deliverables. At the interface between system architecture, software development, integration, and validation, you will contribute directly to the quality, consistency, and control of product milestones. Working closely with the System Architect and the Head of Software Development, you will structure the software roadmap, clarify development priorities, and secure the transition of software versions into integration and validation. In doing so, you will help connect product vision, technical decisions, and operational execution. This position combines technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and close connection to the product. It will suit someone who enjoys structuring, challenging, arbitrating, and, when needed, going deep into technical topics to unblock a situation. This position does not currently include direct people management responsibility, but it offers a real scope of technical and cross-functional influence. Depending on your aspirations and the evolution of the organization, it may later develop into people management responsibilities within software development. The position is based at the LabWater headquarters in Guyancourt, near Paris. Main responsibilities: Translate system and functional requirements into clear software requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria Structure development work packages, interfaces, dependencies, and intermediate versions in line with system milestones Track the progress and maturity of developments carried out internally and with external partners Clarify technical expectations, support contributors, and challenge choices when needed Perform or coordinate design, implementation, and code reviews Prepare software versions for integration and validation by securing the availability of the required elements Assess the maturity of deliverables, analyze gaps, and coordinate the resolution of defects and regressions through to closure Contribute to traceability across requirements, tests, results, and anomalies, as well as to technical evidence related to applicable requirements, especially in product cybersecurity Who you are: You have at least 7 years of experience in embedded software development, software integration, or systems engineering with a strong software component You are familiar with embedded development in C/C++ on microcontroller platforms, real-time systems, communication interfaces and buses such as I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, or Modbus, and modern software lifecycle tooling (Git, CI/CD, Jira) You know how to turn system or functional requirements into software specifications, development tasks, and clear acceptance criteria You have already supported developments through integration on a test bench or on a real product You are comfortable assessing the maturity of a software deliverable, identifying gaps, and coordinating their resolution You know how to challenge developers or external partners from a technical standpoint while building an effective and constructive working relationship You enjoy roles that combine proximity to the code, technical structuring, cross-functional coordination, and collaboration with integration and validation teams You communicate confidently in both French and English, in writing and verbally Experience in code review, software design, automation, control systems, state machines, process systems, or product cybersecurity would be a plus What we offer: We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
