Requisition Summary The Senior Cost Accountant’s role involves close interaction with various departments within Peterbilt and personnel throughout the organization. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for various close related responsibilities, including recording Material Variance, Standard Costs, Factor Changes, Delivery Revenue & Expense, Journal Entries, and Month-end Analysis. They will also complete monthly reconciliations, participate in Physical Inventory, and SOX & Internal Control testing. Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant for our Office located in Denton, Texas. Job Responsibilities Set standard costs for inventoried parts. Update the Cost System for factor changes. Compile delivery revenue & expense forecast and actuals. Prepare monthly journal vouchers, month-end analysis and account reconciliations. Create a monthly forecast and budget analysis. Participate in build station and offsite inventory audits. Assist with inventory reconciliations. Analyze standard costs related to inventory. Perform internal control reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley reviews as assigned. Complete special projects as required, such as ad-hoc reports for senior management and general accounting support. Up to 5% travel can be expected. Required Qualifications Bachelor degree in Accounting is required 3 years of relevant accounting experience Preferred Qualifications CPA/CMA and Master’s degree preferred. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable making oral presentations to peers and management. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel. Strong organizational skills required to manage various projects. Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
