The Library is seeking a detailed-oriented and enthusiastic Library Officer to join the Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR). The successful candidate should be a proactive and eager learner with a passion for providing diverse research visibility and impact services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire approval procedures for transformative agreement (TA) requests across publishers and academic departments, including close monitoring of quotas, proactive communication with publishers and authors, and responding to authors’ enquiries; • Oversee the social media promotion of open access (OA) articles published through the Library’s TA mechanism; • Provide administrative support for the annual CDCF Table 61 (Research Output) exercise, particularly for OA-related figures; • Provide substantial and proactive support for adding and enhancing research output data in IRIMS; • Participate in digital scholarship initiatives, including the maintenance and annual expansion of the HKBU Heritage and HKBUtube platforms, as well as the preparation and management of licensed, off-air recorded TV programs; • Proactively engage in designing storyboards and in the video recording and editing of faculty interviews related to digital scholarship; and • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with four years of relevant experience; • Strong proficiency in Elsevier’s Pure system and approval procedures of TA requests; • Proven experience in video production, and basic familiarity with MySQL and Solr will be considered an advantage; • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving project needs; and • Fluency in both English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua, is required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
