Senior Research Assistant (carrying a functional title of Project Coordinator) (26270179)
The Institute for Innovation and Translation (IIT) is set out with the vision to support the University in pioneering innovation and technology translation. With the mission to drive strategic alliances, collaborations, multidisciplinary research and development and their applications, IIT consists of two sections, namely Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Technology Translation, which will provide all-rounded business development and translational research support for the University in response to the challenges and opportunities worldwide and also specifically under the aegis of the government’s priority on innovation and technology development.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator or his/her delegate, the candidate will be responsible for conducting research and development at an off-campus laboratory located at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks.
Responsibilities:
The appointee will perform the following duties:
• Manage project administration for research and development initiatives; • Participate in research and development of new drug products; • Assist with planning, designing and implementing laboratory experiments; • Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation of experimental procedures and results; • Support liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders; and • Support all matters related to the research projects.
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree or above from a recognised university in science or related field, with at least 3 years of post-qualification research experience; • Hands-on experience with molecular biology and mass spectrometry techniques; • Experience in drug development is a plus; • A passionate and dynamic individual who possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills, is attentive to details, and is a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure; and • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, Cantonese, Putonghua).
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of up to two years subject to renewal upon satisfactory performance.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
