The HQA Manager is a highly skilled professional who leads and directs hardware testing and validation activities. This person acts as a hands-on manager to ensure testing and validation projects are thoroughly tested to replicate potential in-field exposure in the required time frame while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role works with a cross-functional team to test and validate past, current and future industrial safety products and solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for managing processes and teams to develop detailed testing plans and protocols throughout the product development lifecycle. This position will also be involved in the sustaining, VAVE, and quality improvement of ISC legacy products. This position is expected to work closely with various groups to fully assure a properly tested product is released to production and maintaining the testing process documentation. The duties may include but are not limited to:
• Define and execute processes and procedures for testing component and system level specifications and requirements • Define and execute processes and procedures for testing to comply with agency approvals (UL, CSA, ATEX, IEC, MSHA, etc.) • Lead team to troubleshoot new or legacy products with a data-driven approach • Lead team to resolve complex product issues through detailed analysis, rapid experimentations, test planning, and novel idea generation • Responsible for testing to meet expected customer use case for reliability, and serviceability requirements throughout the expected life span of the product • Lead innovation in testing that provides high level of accelerated life testing expected in field • Create, update, and maintain HQA process and procedural documentation • Enforce, and mature the corporate testing and validation processes • Mentor and provide technical guidance to HQA technicians • Travel to customer locations to resolve issues, collect Voice of Customer and visit suppliers to go to Gemba (travel less than 10%) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (Non-Negotiable):
• Associates degree from an accredited engineering college or university or equivalent experience • Minimum 10 years of experience in hardware life cycle testing and validation • Demonstrated progressive experience managing a testing and validation processes • Demonstrated progressive experience with using equipment and knowledge to troubleshoot problems • Experience with establishing best practices for testing • Experience in electronics packaging testing • Experience with typical laboratory equipment such as thermal chambers, gas detection equipment and scopes • Proficiency in basic computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team • Ability to commit to and work under deadlines • Demonstrated analytical skills • Effective written and verbal communication skills QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED (Negotiable):
• Experience leading a team of Technicians • Understanding of accelerated testing processes • Proficiency in using Windchill PLM, Oracle EBS, JAMA, and JIRA • Understanding of simulation analysis tools and techniques • Experience in statistical analysis • Experience in project management • Demonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate development process Industrial Scientific is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
