What will you be doing in this role?

The Payroll Specialist has extensive knowledge in all facets of payroll operations and time/attendance system functionality. In this role, you will possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of specialized sections of payroll and the time/attendance system. Assignments include more advanced responsibilities using expertise in the payroll functionality. Duties may include: garnishments, tax levies, child support payment, time accrual administration and management, UKG functional support, set-up and maintenance of out-of-state employees within the payroll system. Able to perform all duties of a Payroll Representative II.

• Ensures compliance with court orders, garnishments, tax levies and child support payments. Ensures timely notification to affected employees. • Ensures timely remittance of employee withholdings to various government agencies. Ensures timely notification to affected employees. • Review and analyze personnel actions, making appropriate adjustments to employee time accrual balances. • Monitors time accrual plans, analyzing anomalies and correcting balances as needed. Will transfer time accrual balances to appropriate accounts based on employee donation agreements. • Reviews and analyzes personnel actions, generating manual checks for termination, severance agreements or pay adjustments. Generates checks for participants of executive benefit plans. • Provides guidance/training/support to Payroll Representatives to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, policies and pay practices. • Provides functional training and support to Kronos editors to ensure proper edits of pay rules and pay code application. • Sets up out-of-state employees in systems to meet applicable regulations to payroll. • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and Cedars-Sinai pay practices and processes.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or a related major preferred. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing with high volume experience to develop knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to payroll required.
