We are looking to recruit a Consultant to our Community Paediatric team in Newham for 2026
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team within a multidisciplinary Community Child Health service in East London:
Consultant Community Paediatrician (up to 10PA)- the post will have a neuro-disability focus with clinics in neuro-development, motor disorders/ complex needs and Autism spectrum Condition. Will be lead for the Complex needs pathway.
Main duties of the job
The postholders will be expected to work within the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service within Specialist Children & Young People's Services and will include responsibilities in the following areas:
(i) Clinical activities: a. Consultant clinics and related administrative work b. Triage of referrals and supervision as "Consultant of the Day" including Child protection d. MDT clinical discussions or meetings e. Any clinical patient-related meetings
(ii) Teaching: a. To contribute to departmental teaching b. To contribute to teaching of medical students particularly in relation to community child health services
(iii) Management and leadership: a. Clinical Supervision b. Clinical governance c. Management supervision d. Pathway development and leadership in complex needs
(iv) Audit, Quality Improvement and Service Development

Qualifications Essential
oMBBS or equivalent medical qualification oCurrent full UK GMC registration and Licence to Practise MRCPCH or equivalent
Desirable
oPostgraduate degree in related child health or medical speciality, e.g. MSc, MD, PhD oDCH, MBA or other diploma or higher degree in a relevant field
Professional training Essential
Entry on GMC specialist register or will be within 6 month so CCT at interview At least 2 years Higher Specialist Training or equivalent clinical experience in Community Paediatrics At least 2 years General Professional Training in Paediatrics
