Position Summary Performs patient registration. Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling. Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations. Performs patient and customer relations. Completes other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School or equivalent (GED) or higher is required.
Associate Degree: preferred
Bachelors Degree: preferred
2 years Customer Service is required
1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is preferred.
Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
Basic computer skills Pay Range $16.00 - $22.86 Other Information One year of experience in a healthcare front-office, patient access, scheduling, call-center, or customer-service setting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Basic computer proficiency, including electronic health record (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong customer service orientation and professional telephone communication. • Accuracy and attention to detail when entering demographic, insurance, and scheduling information. • Ability to manage high call volume and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Working knowledge of scheduling and registration workflows and payer requirements. • Discretion in handling confidential patient information. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Work Environment
• This position is designated as 100% onsite and is performed primarily in an office and/or clinical setting. • Employees regularly interact with patients, families, healthcare providers, and other staff members in person and by telephone. Physical Demands
• Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, headset, and other standard office equipment. • Prolonged periods of sitting while performing job duties. • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday. • Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of items weighing up to 15 pounds. • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, and team members in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication methods. • Ability to exchange accurate information in a professional and timely manner. Visual Requirements
• Ability to view and read computer screens, electronic devices, documents, forms, reports, and other written materials required to perform job responsibilities. Auditory Requirements

• Experience with Epic Cadence scheduling and registration. • Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology. • Bilingual English/Spanish.
