About this role

As a Buyer, you will manage purchase orders from the initial intent to purchase through to delivery, ensuring accurate reconciliation of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. You will work directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, and collaborate with internal teams to maintain updated delivery dates in the ERP system. Your role also involves inventory optimization, creating and managing RFQs and RFPs, and overseeing supplier relationship management.Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from intent to purchase through delivery, ensuring accurate reconciliation of orders, receipts, and invoices. • Expedite and defer goods and services as required, working directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery. • Collaborate with buyer/planners and update the ERP system to reflect accurate delivery dates. • Identify and execute inventory optimization initiatives, including reviewing and calculating forecasts, safety stocks, and order quantities. • Create and manage RFQs and RFPs, reviewing bid proposals and making recommendations based on quoting analysis. • Maintain records such as quotes, price lists, and supplier correspondence. • Review and execute engineering notifications and drawing changes, interacting with cross-functional teams. • Manage supplier relationships, establishing performance goals for cost, quality, and delivery. • Monitor supplier performance to agreed service level and on-time delivery objectives. • Work with commodity managers to utilize strategic sourcing processes for supplier selection. • Proactively seek cost reduction opportunities with the supplier base. • Report on agreed KPI’s, Action Plans, and cost reduction results. • Manage Action Plans utilizing lean manufacturing principles. • Conduct supplier assessments as a team member to evaluate business practices and opportunities for improvement. • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information to propose solutions. • Contribute to group problem-solving situations. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a purchasing or supply chain position, preferably within a discrete manufacturing environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering. • Strong MRP/ERP experience, preferably with SAP. • Experience with lean manufacturing tools. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in indirect purchasing, negotiation, and sourcing is beneficial. • Knowledge of using and reading engineering drawings and specifications. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Randolph, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
