• Warmly welcome and assist guests upon arrival, including supporting office orientations, departures, and other visitor needs. • Engage with visitors, employees, and callers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, ensuring all interactions are helpful and service-focused. • Provide accurate information and wayfinding for visitors regarding the campus, services, activities, meeting spaces, work areas, and amenities. • Greet and assist visitors, answer questions, and offer clear directions to ensure a smooth and positive experience. • Demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and exceptional customer service at all times while representing the workplace brand. • Act as the central point of contact for client, visitor, and employee inquiries related to services, activities, wayfinding, and building functions. • Actively monitor and maintain a clean, safe, organized front desk and lobby area that aligns with brand standards and fosters a welcoming environment. • Implement and monitor service standards, ensuring they consistently meet or exceed expectations. • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including facilities management, to prepare for meetings, events, and other activities, addressing potential concerns proactively. • Create work orders for custodial, maintenance, safety, and security needs using the appropriate channels and systems. • Proactively anticipate the needs of clients, customers, and support teams, identifying potential issues and offering creative, practical solutions. • Identify potential risks to privacy, security, or operations and escalate concerns appropriately to prevent disruptions or breaches. • Perform general administrative support tasks, including handling incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel, and maintaining an up-to-date phone list. • Answer general phone inquiries professionally, offer callbacks when needed, and prioritize in-person visitors over phone calls to ensure high-quality service at the front desk. • Manage the check-in process for visitors and vendors, issue visitor badges, and ensure proper registration for employees and temporary badges. • Arrange transportation for incoming and outgoing services as required to support visitors and staff. • Maintain a neat, organized, and well-stocked front desk area to ensure smooth daily reception operations. • Provide suggestions and feedback for improving the workplace experience, contributing ideas for best-in-class services and new opportunities. • Assist with meeting and event logistics, including coordination of details and communication with relevant teams, to enhance the overall client and employee experience. • Support other workplace initiatives and ad hoc tasks that contribute to a high-quality, hospitality-focused environment. Essential Skills
• At least 3 years of related experience in reception, customer service, or a similar client-facing role. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders. • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for delivering a high level of service. • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a busy front desk environment. • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving issues. • Previous experience in hospitality or a client-facing environment, such as front desk or concierge roles, is preferred. • Comfort using standard office software, including Microsoft Office, for daily administrative and communication tasks. • Experience providing white glove service or high-touch customer care is highly valued. • Experience in administrative support, data entry, and general office administration. • Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and confidentiality while handling sensitive information and security-related processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) programs is a plus. • Strong attention to detail when managing visitor registration, badges, and phone lists. • Ability to collaborate effectively with facilities, security, custodial, and other support teams. • Comfort working in a dynamic, service-oriented environment with frequent guest interactions. • Interest in contributing ideas to improve workplace services and enhance the overall employee and visitor experience. Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time, on-site reception role with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The receptionist is expected to be at the front desk and ready to work by 8:00 AM each day. The position is based in a professional office setting with an employee parking area available. The work environment centers around a front desk and lobby space that must remain clean, organized, stocked, and welcoming at all times. You will use office technologies such as Microsoft Office and, where applicable, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to create work orders and support building operations. The culture emphasizes hospitality, superior workplace experiences, and collaborative partnerships with facilities and other support teams. The dress code aligns with a polished, professional front-of-house presentation appropriate for a high-visibility reception and guest-facing role. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
