About this role

Job Title: Document Control TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Document Control Technician supports a busy skincare laboratory by maintaining inventories, organizing files, assisting with product formulation, and performing aesthetic and product specification assessments. This role works closely with laboratory staff to ensure accurate batching, testing, and documentation while following established safety and quality protocols.Responsibilities

• Maintain general laboratory operations, including raw material inventory, bulk and standards inventory, and product sample inventory. • Fill and label product samples accurately and ensure proper storage and documentation. • Organize and maintain laboratory files and records in a clear, accessible, and compliant manner. • Proactively update the supervisor on work status, flag issues promptly, and request assistance when needed. • Assist with product formulation by calculating ingredient quantities required for various batch sizes and requirements. • Prepare and pre-weigh raw materials and pre-mixes according to formula requirements for batch preparation. • Combine and process weighed ingredients following established procedures and observe batches throughout the manufacturing process. • Record all notable batch characteristics, including observations related to quality, performance, and appearance. • Conduct aesthetic and product specification assessments to ensure products meet defined standards. • Use all lab-scale equipment, including scales and measurement instruments, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) for batching, testing, and quality purposes. • Follow laboratory safety protocols and good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards at all times. • Perform other related duties as assigned to support laboratory operations and product development. Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in a chemistry or laboratory setting; academic laboratory experience is acceptable. • Hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment with a focus on skincare, creams, or lotions is beneficial. • Experience using laboratory instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, pipettes, and scales. • Ability to perform stability testing and accurately document results. • Knowledge of and adherence to laboratory safety protocols. • Experience working under good manufacturing practice (GMP) guidelines. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when weighing materials, recording data, and maintaining documentation. • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for batching, testing, and quality control. • Effective communication skills to provide proactive status updates and raise issues in a timely manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in chemistry or a related scientific discipline through academic coursework or laboratory experience. • Comfort working with skincare products, including creams and lotions, and assessing their aesthetic and performance characteristics. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-growing laboratory environment experiencing significant business expansion. • Strong organizational skills for managing inventories and maintaining orderly laboratory files. • Adaptability to take on additional duties as assigned and support evolving laboratory needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
