Job Title: Safety RepresentativeJob DescriptionThe Safety Representative supports safety compliance, training, and jobsite safety initiatives on active electrical construction projects. This role focuses on identifying hazards, performing inspections and audits, and maintaining OSHA and internal safety standards across multiple project sites. The Safety Representative works closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Responsibilities • Conduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, and safety observations on active construction projects. • Support the development and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans. • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, and assist in implementing corrective actions. • Deliver and support safety training programs for field and project personnel, including toolbox talks and formal sessions. • Partner with project teams to maintain a safe work environment and reinforce safety expectations and best practices. • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal safety standards and policies across all assigned projects. • Apply hazard recognition and risk mitigation techniques to identify unsafe conditions and drive timely corrective actions. • Provide clear safety communication and guidance to field teams, supervisors, and project leadership. • Support construction safety initiatives related to electrical construction, tenant improvement, and other project types. • Assist in maintaining safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of electrical construction safety experience. • Experience supporting electrical construction projects, including field-based work. • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance requirements. • Demonstrated ability in safety compliance and safety management within construction environments. • Strong hazard recognition and risk mitigation skills, with the ability to identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions. • Experience conducting safety training and communicating safety expectations to teams and field personnel. • Familiarity with construction safety practices, including electrical construction and tenant improvement projects. • Understanding of DOT regulations as they relate to construction safety. • Proficiency in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations. • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver safety training, guidance, and feedback clearly and confidently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Electrical construction experience beyond safety responsibilities is preferred. • OSHA 30 certification is preferred. • NFPA 70E certification is ideal. • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification is preferred. • Experience with health and safety programs in construction environments. • Background in tenant improvement projects is beneficial. • Ability to work effectively across multiple project sites in the general Puget Sound area. • Interest in ongoing professional development, including leveraging online learning platforms for growth. Work EnvironmentThis role is approximately 80% field and 20% office, with primary work taking place on active construction sites in the general Puget Sound area. The Safety Representative regularly visits local project sites and travels locally as needed, with a work vehicle provided for site travel. The position involves frequent exposure to active construction environments, including electrical construction and other commercial projects. The work setting emphasizes a strong safety culture and offers access to professional growth resources such as online training platforms. During the consultancy period, the role includes paid holidays, vacation time, and accrued sick time in accordance with policy. The environment is collaborative and field-focused, with close interaction between safety, field crews, and project teams. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $67.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
