Job Title: FPGA EngineerDescriptionAs an FPGA Engineer, you'll contribute to all phases of the new product development lifecycle, designing and implementing FPGA solutions for next-generation military vehicle electronics (video management, smart displays, ballistic computing, fire control and vehicle control. Some of your key responsibilities:• Convert requirements into design description documents.• Design and develop FPGA architectures and RTL code using VHDL and/or Verilog.• Perform FPGA implementation activities including synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and optimization.• Develop and execute verification plans, testbenches, and simulation environments.• Integrate FPGA designs with embedded processors, high-speed interfaces, and peripheral devices.• Troubleshoot and debug FPGA-related hardware and firmware issues.• Develop and maintain reusable IP cores and libraries to improve development efficiency.• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical reviews.• Support board bring-up, hardware validation, and system integration activities.• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on FPGA development activities.• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule.• Contribute to technical proposals, cost estimates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.Requirements
• 3+ Years of experience performing FPGA Design • Strong experience with VHDL and Ultrascale+ • Must be eligible for Canadian government security clearances Assets• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field • Aerospace and/or Defence industry experience • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)• Ability to interpret datasheets and technical documentation• Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nepean, ON. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
