Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Quality Technician plays a key role in supporting inspection activities and strengthening overall quality coverage within a high-reliability manufacturing environment. This position focuses on dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace components and assemblies, using precision measuring equipment and applying aerospace quality standards. The Quality Technician ensures that products consistently meet all quality, regulatory, and customer requirements while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. Responsibilities • Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections on manufactured components and assemblies to verify conformance to engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment to accurately assess product dimensions and characteristics. • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to execute thorough and accurate inspections. • Support first article inspection activities to validate new or revised parts and processes against customer and regulatory requirements. • Develop or follow inspection plans, sampling methods, and acceptance criteria to ensure consistent and reliable inspection coverage. • Complete inspection documentation, including inspection reports, nonconformance reports, and corrective action records, in accordance with quality procedures. • Use quality management software systems and Microsoft Office applications to record, track, and report inspection results and quality data. • Assist in root cause investigations of nonconformances and support implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Apply knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 to daily inspection activities and quality decision-making. • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and quality requirements related to product integrity, documentation, and traceability. • Follow calibration and traceability practices for inspection tools and equipment, and support proper quality record retention. • Collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. • Maintain a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in all inspection and quality-related activities. • Work independently to manage inspection tasks while also contributing as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent. • 2–5 years of experience in aerospace, aviation, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments. • Hands-on experience performing dimensional and visual inspections on manufactured components and assemblies. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). • Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment. • Knowledge of inspection planning, sampling methods, and acceptance criteria. • Ability to complete inspection documentation, nonconformance reports, and corrective action records accurately and thoroughly. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and quality management software systems. • Understanding of aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9001. • Familiarity with FAA regulations and quality compliance requirements. • Knowledge of calibration, traceability, and quality record retention practices. • Experience supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all inspection activities. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for addressing quality issues. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting and discussing inspection results. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred. • Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) is preferred. • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification is preferred. • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
