Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob DescriptionPlant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineers are part of our North American Engineering organization and are co-located in the Vehicle Assembly Plant with the vehicle production team. The PVT Engineer serves as the 'first line of defense' regarding functional system quality for the products produced at the assembly plant. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and addressing quality issues on components shipped into the assembly plant and processes within the Vehicle Assembly Plant and integrated remote build centers.Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Body Engineering team to meet quality objectives with a focus on Exterior Ornamentation. • Conduct daily reviews of incoming warranty claims data and classify claims into accurate categories. • Contact dealerships for parts and repair diagnoses and participate in customer callbacks to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback. • Review returned parts for root cause analysis and develop interim containment and permanent corrective actions. • Support the assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, campaigns, audits, root cause analysis, and other quality-related tasks. • Lead engineering trials and implement running changes for the sub-system. • Issue engineering alerts and pursue authorization of engineering concerns for product changes to support quality objectives. • Engage technical experts and team members to drive resolution and develop corrective actions to improve product quality. • Create presentations for various levels of management, vehicle quality reviews, and engineering managers. Essential Skills

• 1+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. • 1+ years of experience working with exteriors, fit and finish, and GD&T. • Bachelor's degree in an engineering concentration. • Experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and exterior body. • Proficiency in process engineering, exterior trim, stack-up analysis, flushness, gap & flush, dimensional inspection, GD&T, and gage R&R. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. • Excellent presentation skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for documentation and presentation. • Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills including root cause identification and analysis, developing containment actions, and permanent corrective actions. • Success working in a fast-paced challenging environment. • Knowledge of warranty systems including ECB, BSAQ, and GSAR. Work EnvironmentThis position is fully on-site at our Michigan Assembly Plant (MAP) and is embedded within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment, requiring regular presence on the plant floor as well as in engineering and quality offices. The standard work schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, although most of the team arrives earlier at 6:30 am. There is no second or third shift support required. Workload and pace intensify during major and minor vehicle launches, requiring flexibility, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to manage multiple parallel issues under tight production timelines. The role involves daily interaction with manufacturing operations, including plant supervisors, quality teams, skilled trades, and engineering counterparts, with frequent participation in GEMBA walks, vehicle inspections, and in-plant trials. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Wayne, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.30 - $46.53/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
