Job Title: Construction Project Representative, Battery StorageJob DescriptionThis role serves as the owner’s representative for battery energy storage system (BESS) construction projects, overseeing field electrical installation, startup, and commissioning activities. You will manage the electrical scope for DC systems, power conversion units, medium-voltage AC collection systems, safety systems, SCADA, and instrumentation to ensure compliance with engineering plans, project specifications, quality standards, schedules, and safety requirements. The position requires strong construction management experience in utility-scale projects, particularly in BESS, solar, or substation environments, and involves working onsite at active construction sites across multiple states.Responsibilities

• Manage the full electrical scope of BESS construction projects, including schedules, coordination with engineering, and adherence to project specifications. • Work collaboratively with internal resources, field teams, and subcontractors across multiple disciplines to determine project priorities, develop work plans, and align activities with key milestones. • Report daily, weekly, and monthly on construction progress, quality control status, and safety performance to project stakeholders. • Record, name, and upload electrical installation quality control photographs to support documentation and compliance requirements. • Facilitate and track requests for information (RFIs) and design change notifications between field teams, engineering, and other stakeholders. • Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely in accordance with department procedures, local regulations, contracts, and organizational policies. • Verify constructability of designs in the field, advise on and report proper resource allocation, and assess field status to identify and resolve issues as they arise. • Conduct system walkdowns, develop, manage, and close punch lists to ensure completion of all outstanding work items. • Review project completion packages for completeness and accuracy, ensuring alignment with as-built conditions. • Interface regularly with designated safety, engineering, and quality control teams to align field activities with project and regulatory requirements. • Oversee field commissioning activities for solar and battery-related systems, ensuring proper startup and performance verification. • Perform construction inspection and field electrical quality control activities, including review of drawings and verification of installation against plans and standards. • Support risk management and risk assessment processes related to construction, safety, schedule, and budget. • Provide contractor oversight, including monitoring performance, safety practices, adherence to lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with QA/QC requirements. • Support schedule and planning activities, including updates in project planning tools and coordination with broader construction management efforts. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3+ years of construction experience in utility-scale projects such as transmission, substation, battery storage, or solar installations. • Demonstrated experience in construction management, including budget oversight, scheduling, contractor oversight, and field coordination. • Experience in utility construction with a preference for experience in BESS, solar, or substation projects. • Strong understanding of electrical construction means and methods, including knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards. • Experience with construction inspection, field electrical quality control, and drawing review. • Proficiency in safety management practices, including risk management, risk assessment, and implementation of lockout/tagout procedures. • Experience with QA/QC processes in construction environments, including documentation and inspection workflows. • Ability to manage and report on project progress, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF editing tools. • Experience using document control systems for managing project documentation and records. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and reporting requirements. • Effective communication skills for working with third parties, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. • Working knowledge of schedule and planning concepts, including familiarity with project planning tools such as Primavera or similar. • Ability to work onsite at construction sites and provide hands-on oversight of field activities. • Experience acting as an owner’s representative on large-scale construction projects. • Exposure to battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar field commissioning activities. • Familiarity with civil construction inspection and coordination in a utility-scale environment. • Experience with project management methodologies and tools, including formal project management practices. • Ability to support and interpret contract requirements and coordinate with contract administrators or project managers. • Strong attention to detail in documentation, as-built verification, and completion package review. • Comfort working across multiple geographic locations and adapting to different project sites and local conditions. Work EnvironmentThis role is fully onsite at active construction sites, providing direct oversight of contractors performing electrical and related work. Projects are located across multiple states, including Texas, Nevada, California, and New Mexico. The work environment involves outdoor and field-based conditions typical of large-scale utility construction, including exposure to weather, construction equipment, and electrical systems. You will collaborate closely with field crews, safety personnel, engineers, and quality control teams while managing documentation and reporting requirements using standard office and project software. Travel to different project locations is required, and periodic travel home is supported. The position requires adherence to site safety rules, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and compliance with all construction-site protocols. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
