Job Title: Clinical Research Dietitian (Part-Time) – SalisburyJob DescriptionThis part-time clinical research dietitian role focuses on supporting participants in a lifestyle-based clinical study conducted on-site in Salisbury, North Carolina. You guide randomized patients through structured nutrition and physical activity protocols, help them set and track individualized goals, and ensure their eligibility and adherence to study requirements. This position offers a long-term opportunity to build hands-on experience in clinical research within a supportive, professionally driven environment. Responsibilities • Work directly with randomized study participants as they receive lifestyle management standard operating procedures (SOPs) at 12-week intervals throughout the study. • Develop individualized diet and exercise goals for each participant in strict adherence to the lifestyle protocol of the study. • Teach participants how to accurately capture and record physical activity and food intake using study-provided materials and tools. • Review participant information and, in accordance with the study protocol, determine whether patients are eligible to participate based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. • Monitor participant progress over time and reinforce adherence to lifestyle recommendations and study requirements. • Collaborate with clinical research staff to ensure consistent implementation of nutrition and activity components within the overall study design. • Interact with the principal investigator (PI) and clinical research associates (CRAs) as needed to discuss participant status, protocol questions, and study documentation. • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of participant goals, education provided, and data collected in alignment with clinical research standards. • Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles and study-specific procedures to support data integrity and participant safety. Essential Skills • Current North Carolina license as a registered dietitian. • Strong knowledge of nutrition and lifestyle counseling, including developing diet and exercise plans. • Experience or training in health education, with the ability to teach participants how to track physical activity and food intake. • Understanding of clinical research processes, including working within established protocols and SOPs. • Ability to interpret and apply inclusion and exclusion criteria to determine participant eligibility for the study. • Clear, professional communication skills for working with study participants and clinical research staff. • Organizational skills to manage multiple participants, documentation requirements, and follow-up at 12-week intervals. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is preferred; training can be provided if not already obtained. • Comfort interacting with principal investigators (PIs) and clinical research associates (CRAs) in a research setting. • Interest in building long-term experience in clinical research and lifestyle intervention studies. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary research team. Work EnvironmentThis is a part-time, on-site position based in Salisbury, North Carolina, with a flexible schedule of approximately 15–20 hours per week. You work within a clinical research setting, supporting a structured lifestyle study and collaborating with research professionals such as PIs and CRAs. The environment emphasizes adherence to protocols, accurate data collection, and participant-centered care, offering a strong foundation for developing clinical research expertise over the long term. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Salisbury, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
