Job Description Summary The GE9X Product Support Engineering On-Wing Maintenance Leader will oversee support of the on-wing tasks including but not limited to ICA updates, tooling modifications, procedure trials and validations, and design reviews. The position also includes PSE hardware ownership of the GE9X oil system. The PSE will serve as the focal for such topics in internal reviews and activities and in external engagements with airline customers through the completion of the NPI phase and in revenue service. The PSE will also coordinate with counterparts in Systems and Design Engineering, Product Management, Product Operations, Customer Experience, etc. in product strategy and execution.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Perform the responsibilities of a Product Support Engineer for GE9X on-wing maintenance procedures including but not limited to the following: • Line Maintenance Design Activities – participate in design reviews and provide guidance to design teams on configuration changes and maintainability considerations; support fleet retrofit activities for external hardware; lead/participate in procedure validation activities at various locations as needed (e.g, going to Genba at CTEC, Peebles, Evendale, Flight Test, customer sites, other global locations) • Line Maintenance Tooling – support the GE tooling design team on configuration reviews and validations; support airline customers, development assembly, flight test, and production activities as needed with respect to tooling usage; support deal teams in campaigns regarding line maintenance tooling cost projections • Aircraft Maintenance Manual – serve as the GE focal or “gatekeeper” for the 777X AMM ensuring that GE updates are submitted on-time and the AMM remains current; coordinate with Boeing counterparts on AMM updates; provide support to the Repair team as needed on AMM-level repair development • Flight Test and Development Assembly Support – assist the GE teams at Development Assembly and 777X flight test with fault disposition, procedure drafts and reviews, troubleshooting, event investigation and resolution; will require both remote and on-site support as needed • Other Support Activities – support training development in partnership with the CTEC team including hardware set-up as needed; lead/support engine display preparations for airshows and special exhibitions/demonstrations as needed; support customer inquiries and provide remote/on-site assistance with performing on-wing procedures • Perform the responsibilities of a Product Support Engineer hardware owner of the GE9X oil system including but not limited to ICA management, customer inquiry support and interfacing with the design team • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, customer communication • Influence the development of strategy for on-wing maintenance and oil system support, including resource needs • Lead functional teams and projects with minimal resource requirements. • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics • Provide mentoring/coaching to peers • Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services; stay informed of industry trends that may inform work • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering capacity
Desired Characteristics
• Hands-on experience with on-wing maintenance procedures • Prior experience in a Product Support Engineer role • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and to lead programs / projects • Understanding of NPI and design change process • Experience as a CTH is welcome but not required
