Nether Stowe School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly organised Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to join our pastoral team. This is an excellent opportunity for an internal member of staff who is passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour, and pastoral care to take on a key leadership role within the school community.
The Head of Year will play a vital role in supporting students’ personal development, wellbeing, behaviour, and attendance. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, pastoral staff, teachers, and families, the successful candidate will ensure that all students are supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
This is a non-teaching position, focused on leading the pastoral provision for a year group and ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the pastoral care of a designated year groupMonitor and support student attendance, behaviour, and wellbeingAct as the key point of contact for students, parents/carers, and staff regarding pastoral mattersWork closely with tutors, safeguarding leads, and senior leaders to support vulnerable studentsImplement behaviour and attendance strategies in line with school policiesSupport restorative conversations and behaviour interventionsAnalyse pastoral data to identify trends and implement appropriate supportPromote a positive culture and sense of belonging within the year groupContribute to safeguarding and wellbeing support across the schoolWhat you'll need to succeed
