Essential requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Strong experience teaching in a special school primary or early years settingExperience working with pupils with Down's syndromeConfident and experienced in delivering personal careProficient in using Makaton to support communicationAbility to design and deliver a topic-based, primary-style curriculumUnderstanding of the needs of pupils with complex special educational needsExperience working with pupils with additional needs including autismStrong behaviour management skillsGrade A-C or Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
