Job Description The MPS Wholesaler improves Merchant Payment Solutions (MPS) revenue across U.S. Bank’s Branch and Small Business channels by strengthening lead quality, referral execution, funnel conversion, activation, and field capability.
This field-facing coach and performance partner delivers training, supports employees and teams with execution gaps, communicates weekly results, and influences frontline employees and leaders to adopt proven practices that accelerate revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Optimization and Field Execution
- Partner with Branch and Small Business employees across the enterprise to improve MPS lead quality, referral execution, funnel conversion, activation, and revenue.
- Translate strategies, scorecards, and performance insights into clear field actions; diagnose revenue leakage and develop targeted improvement plans.
- Reinforce qualified opportunities, strong client fit, disciplined handoffs, consistent follow-through, and a positive, growth-oriented approach.
Training, Coaching and Funnel Expertise
- Design and facilitate onboarding, ongoing development, and targeted remediation for employees and teams with performance gaps.
- Coach employees on identifying high-quality merchant opportunities, making effective referrals, setting client expectations, and completing required follow-up.
- Assess behavior and results, identify root causes, and provide tailored coaching, playbooks, job aids, and reinforcement.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the MPS referral-to-revenue journey and clearly articulate the standards that improve opportunity quality, conversion, activation, and revenue realization.
- Use performance insights and field feedback to identify conversion barriers, improve handoffs, and refine coaching and execution strategies.
Leadership Influence and Communication
- Build trusted partnerships with frontline employees, District Managers, Small Business Sales Managers, Market Leaders, Region Leaders, and Merchant Market Managers.
- Influence without direct authority through credibility, data, clear expectations, workshops, leadership briefings, and targeted market support.
- Prepare and distribute concise, actionable weekly results; translate performance data into priorities, success stories, and specific field actions.
- Deliver polished written communications and executive-ready presentations, track intervention effectiveness, and adjust plans based on outcomes.
Merchant Market Manager Enablement
- Assess and close Merchant Market Manager experience and onboarding gaps through structured training and coaching.
- Build capability in pricing, products, marketing, client value articulation, and consistent sales execution.
- Train Merchant Market Managers to engage the Customer Activation Team (CAT), set client expectations, and coordinate follow-up to improve activation rates.
Success Measures
Success is demonstrated by improved referral quality, funnel conversion, activation, revenue growth, field adoption, targeted performance improvement, and clear weekly communications.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience - Typically five to eight years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience - Three to five years of experience in Small Business sales, merchant payments, sales enablement, revenue optimization, field coaching, training, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring, referral funnels, pricing, products, onboarding, activation, and revenue driver. - Demonstrated success coaching frontline sales employees and influencing leaders without direct authority - Strong facilitation, presentation, analytics, and written and verbal communication skills - Ability to translate funnel and revenue data into targeted actions and measurable improvement - Proven cross-functional partnership, organization, accountability, and follow-through - Knowledge of U.S. Bank Branch and Small Business sales motions, MPS referral processes, Elavon products, and CAT activation practices is preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
