Rate : - £25 per hour

Main duties of the job As a Cancer Nurse Specialist, you will:

Have in-depth cancer knowledge, and skills to support the diagnostic and surgical cancer service that we provide on-site.

Be a valued addition to the team in our consultant led service, and engage with supporting the expanding cancer services in all specialist areas.

Fully assess each patient's needs, providing tailored treatment plans and care, providing high-quality treatment and support.

Assist consultants during clinics and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

Support and participate with clinical data collection and audit processes to maintain governance and accreditation

Assessing and monitoring patient conditions.

Working as an effective team member and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships.

Work within national and local protocols where these exist.

Act as a patient's key worker and advocate, ensuring care needs and preferences are demonstrated in care planning.

Possess extensive knowledge of community cancer support services to effectively signpost patients as required.

Offer personalised, holistic support to patients at key points in their cancer pathway.

Work alongside our MDT co-ordinator to facilitate streamlined care between medical colleagues, allied health professionals and external providers.

Maintain specialist knowledge of cancer care through continuing professional development

Ensure effective implementation of advanced communication skills during all patient interactions.

You're registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. Qualifications Essential
