Job summary
This is an opportunity for an experienced maternity support worker or health care assistant to extend their skill within the maternity Unit.
Under the direction of the Registered Midwife, the Maternity support worker will work with all members of the multi disciplinary team to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of care delivery in undertaking personal care duties for women and families on the Maternity unit.
Hours will be 12 hour shifts including days, nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job
Assist in the development, implementation. and assessment of care plans Work within standard operating procedures as defined within each area. To work under direction of the senior midwife who will be available for reference. Undertake and develop a specified range of clinical skills appropriate to the speciality with appropriate training to be able to at times use own initiative delivering patient care, with supervision available.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
