Located on the doorstep of the stunning Dartmoor National Park and close to Devon's beautiful coastline, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is a Level 3 maternity unit providing care for approximately 3,400 women each year.
As a Community Midwife, you will provide high-quality, personalised care throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate and woman-centred care. You will support women and families to achieve the best possible outcomes while promoting informed choice and continuity of care.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties
Manage a caseload of women providing antenatal and postnatal care within the community setting. Promote normality and support informed choice throughout the maternity journey. Undertake routine and specialist assessments, identifying and escalating concerns appropriately. Work in partnership with obstetric, neonatal, safeguarding, health visiting and primary care teams. Participate in health promotion activities to improve outcomes for women, babies and families. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous digital clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards. Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives. About You

Is a Registered Midwife with current NMC registration. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is committed to providing safe, evidence-based and woman-centred care. Works effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Has a flexible and positive approach to service delivery. Care for women throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period both in the community and the hospital setting
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
