About this role

Job summary

The pottering department is looking for a motivated individual to join the linen distribution team.

The linen team pays a pivotal role in supporting patient comfort and safety and the successful candidate will work closely with clinical staff members and facilities colleagues; to ensure a high quality linen provision service.

Safe transportation of linen and associated materials around the site in accordance with agreed working practices.

Main duties of the job

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

To order and receive clean laundry from the laundry provider. Assist in the recording of linen stock, deliveries, shortages and orders. To check delivery stock levels are correct and match provider delivery advice notes, advising the supervisor of any shortages. Identify ward and department daily linen requirements. Sort, pack, and deliver linen and associated items to wards and departments. Carry out visual maintenance checks of linen cages, electric tugs, trolleys reporting issues and requesting maintenance when required. Carry out cleaning duties in the linen room and linen cupboards. Provide occasional assistance to general portering.
