The successful candidate must have full knowledge of Microsoft Office and be able to demonstrate problem solving and strong communication silks with an understanding of confidentiality. To be able to work as a team member and autonomously with good interpersonal skills and the ability to follow procedures and policy.
If successful you will be required to carry out a variety of administrative tasks for the efficient running of the practice projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors. Effective time management, planning and organising and the ability to remain sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations are key.
Support with sickness and holiday cover in addition to contracted hours may also be required.
Main duties of the job
Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls.
Book patient appointments
To liaise with GPs, nursing staff, the Practice Manager regarding patient related queries.
Answer emergency phone calls and action as necessary
Receive, file and workflow external documents both in hard and electronic format
Maintain a log, file and workflow to clinical system all correspondence handled over the desk.
Manage incoming samples
Manage patient tasks through EMIS Docman AccuRx Email
Providing general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors
Processing medication requests
Manage patient queries at desk
Manage scanning and document workflow using Docman

Sign all visitors in and out
Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls.
Receive incoming registration forms, make necessary checks for living within boundary and ID. Scan forms and register as required.
To book patient appointments with clinical staff
Manage incoming Patient Online Access forms and granting access
To liaise with GPs, nursing staff, the Practice Manager, or any other member of the practice team regarding patient-related queries.
Answer emergency phone calls and action as necessary
To receive and file and workflow external documents both in hard and electronic format
Chaperone patients as required
To take payment of fees for private non NHS work
Assist deliveries advising team members that goods have arrive
To maintain a log, file and workflow to clinical system all correspondence handled over the desk.
Manage incoming samples ensuring correct bottle is labelled and has paperwork.
Manage patient tasks through EMIS Docman AccuRx Email
Manage reception email account as well as own
To cover for holidays and sickness as required.
Providing general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors
Keep up to date with reception updates, attend reception meetings and follow process and policy
