Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the theatre department, managing the stock and equipment, and ordering items for use in the clinical environment.
This is a busy role working across several disciplines working closely with the theatre teams and the management team. The role is part of a small team working closely together.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities include:
Using the Trust procurement systems i.e. Integra and NHS Supply Chain to order stock items. Carrying out stock management tasks, i.e. stock location, reordering, stock put away and housekeeping within the relevant areas. Communication at all levels within the job role is vital in relation to the requirements of the various teams. Working closely with the Procurement teams to establish alternative products where the standard item is not available. Working proactively to ensure that stock levels are suitable for the needs of the service, and escalating any concerns to Senior Management. Managing the sterile instrument sets used within the theatre environment.
About us
The successful candidate will ideally have managed stock or equipment in a previous role. An understanding of the NHS would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to be able to communicate at all levels. The role is busy and very demanding and it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to manage their own workload, escalating issues where necessary.
The Theatre department is located at Leighton Hospital, Crewe, next to the Treatment Centre.
