Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly, well-established, and high-achieving practice in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.
Located in a desirable area of the West Midlands, bordering Staffordshire and Shropshire, the practice benefits from excellent transport links, outstanding local schools, and access to both countryside and city amenities.

The offer of this role is between 01/10/26 to 31/03/27. Therefore the duration might change depending on the starting date.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to our practice population through a combination of face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations. They will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring safe and effective clinical care.
The role will include managing routine and urgent appointments, reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence, laboratory results and prescription requests, and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing delivery of high standards of care across the practice.

Clinical Responsibilities
The post holder will:
Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients in accordance with the NHS GP Contract. Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations as appropriate. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses. Assess, investigate and refer patients where clinically appropriate. Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with national and local guidance. Manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and complex conditions. Conduct home visits where clinically necessary. Provide health promotion advice and preventative healthcare interventions. Maintain accurate, legible and contemporaneous clinical records. Participate in safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults. Support the management of patients with long-term conditions. Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities
The post holder will:
Process pathology and imaging results in a timely manner. Action clinical correspondence, hospital letters, and electronic communications. Complete medical reports and forms as required. Maintain compliance with information governance and data protection requirements. Participate in practice audits and quality improvement activities.
Quality and Governance
The post holder will:
Participate in clinical governance activities. Contribute to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) achievement. Engage in significant event reviews and learning activities. Support CQC compliance and quality improvement initiatives. Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies and protocols. Report incidents and near misses in accordance with practice policy.
Teaching and Training
The post holder may:
Support the supervision of medical students, GP trainees, nurses, or other healthcare professionals. Participate in educational meetings and practice learning events. Maintain professional development through regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Team Working

Qualifications Essential
MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification. Full GMC Registration with licence to practise. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or equivalent. Experience Essential
Essential Criteria Fully qualified General Practitioner with current GMC registration and licence to practise. Included on the NHS England GP Performers List. Experience of working in a primary care/general practice setting. Ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Experience of providing patient-centred care and working within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent clinical assessment, communication and consultation skills. Understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, prescribing and quality improvement. Experience of using clinical IT systems (e.g. EMIS Web, SystmOne). Desirable Criteria Previous experience as a Salaried GP within an NHS General Practice. Interest or experience in long-term condition management. Experience in teaching, training or supervising healthcare professionals. Participation in quality improvement projects, audits or service development. Experience of supporting enhanced access, vaccination programmes or care home services. An additional clinical interest or specialist qualification that would benefit the practice population.
Desirable
Previous experience working in Primary Care. Experience of working within an NHS GP practice. Familiarity with EMIS Web clinical system. Experience in managing long-term conditions within a primary care setting. Participation in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, or service development. Interest in teaching, mentoring, or supervising trainees and other healthcare professionals. Experience of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
