Main duties of the job
In this dynamic, hands-on role, you will deliver autonomous, multi-disciplinary primary care to our diverse patient community from day one.
Key daily responsibilities include:
Running independent clinical clinics for routine screening and preventive health.
Monitoring and supporting patients living with long-term conditions.
Administering lifelong immunization and seasonal vaccination schedules.
Conducting essential diagnostic tests and wound management care.
Maintaining precise electronic records and contributing to practice quality standards.
You will act as a vital frontline point of contact, making a tangible difference to community health every single shift.

Job description Job responsibilities Experienced GP Practice Nurse 21 Hours per Week

We are looking for an experienced and competent GP Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team for 21 hours per week.
This is not a training post. The successful applicant must be able to undertake the required Practice Nurse duties independently from commencement, including cervical cytology, childhood and baby immunisations, long-term condition reviews/QOF, cytology failsafe, vaccinations and injections, ECGs, infection prevention and control, and EMIS Web.
The role requires a nurse with recent GP Practice/Primary Care experience who is confident working autonomously and able to provide a broad range of general practice nursing services.
Key ResponsibilitiesLong-term condition management, including diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension
Support delivery of QOF and other contractual requirements
Cervical screening/smears and cytology failsafe
Childhood and baby immunisations
Adult vaccinations and seasonal vaccination programmes
ECGs and routine clinical observations
Mental health injections where appropriately trained and competent
Infection prevention and control
Blood tests, wound care and other routine nursing procedures within competence
Health promotion and lifestyle advice
Accurate clinical documentation and coding
Recognition and appropriate escalation of deteriorating patients
Participation in clinical audits, quality improvement and practice governance
Safeguarding and compliance with practice policies and procedures
Effective working with GPs, ANPs, pharmacists, HCAs and the wider multidisciplinary team
Essential RequirementsCurrent NMC registration
Recent and relevant GP Practice/Primary Care Nursing experience
Current competence and experience in cervical cytology
Experience with childhood and baby immunisations
Experience in long-term condition management and QOF
Experience using EMIS Web
Competence in ECG recording
Experience administering vaccinations and injections
Good understanding of infection prevention and control
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent clinical assessment, communication and decision-making skills
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
Working Pattern21 hours per week Permanent Part-time
Working days and session times can be discussed, with some flexibility around the working pattern.
Salary: £18.00£23.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications
