Main duties of the job As a Prison In-Reach Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in supporting people affected by substance use within a custodial setting, working predominantly across HMP Forest Bank and HMP Styal. You will build positive, therapeutic relationships with people in prison, providing assessment, recovery planning, harm reduction, structured interventions and ongoing care coordination to support individuals to reduce substance-related harm and progress towards recovery and successful resettlement.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary prison team, you will liaise closely with prison staff, healthcare professionals, community services and other partner agencies to ensure continuity of care throughout a person's time in custody and on release. This is a rewarding role where your expertise, compassion and ability to engage people can make a meaningful difference to health, wellbeing, recovery and reducing reoffending.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per year. We are an integrated drug and alcohol service, delivering an asset based community approach to treatment. We specialise in harm reduction and needle syringe provision, psycho social interventions, opioid substitution treatment, referral to detox and community interventions. Person Specification

Experience Essential

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. You will have demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, or a clear motivation for wanting to work in the drug and alcohol sector. A successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service is essential.

You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.
