About this role

Job summary

We are a 4 partner practice with 4 sites across Accrington and Brierfield. We are looking for a manager to oversee running of those bases in ACORN Centre. As a practice we strive for quality care delivered in a caring environment. As partners we have extensive experience in General Practice with additional expertise in training, research and practice development.

We are looking for someone to work with us and help oversee the team as we develop and tackle new challenges. We are forward thinking and recognise the need for primary care to adapt whilst providing excellent clinical care to our community. Providing such service is taxing but achievable with the right team.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the 2 practices with the support of the senior team. The role will involve leading the team to deliver excellent patient care whilst ensuring the team delivers key targets.

You will be based at Acorn Primary care centre providing management support for 2 practices King Street and Dr Bello's. We strive to provide great clinical experience for our patients and have a passionate team keen to deliver.

Job description Job responsibilities

- Oversee day to day running of the practice with the assistance of our management team

- Oversee operational aspects of clinical services

- Ensure the practice is compliant with any NHS, Information governance, CQC, or statutory requirements

- Provide contact point for external agencies such as ICB, PCN and other community services

- Manage admin team annual leave, rotas, appraisals and HR aspects

- Manage clinical team annual leave, rotas and HR aspects

- Work alongside our team to ensure patients receive the highest quality care

- Ensure the team achieves targets such as QOF, Lancashire GP contract

- Implement changes as general practice is required to adapt

- Responsibility for recruitment and HR management alongside senior team

- Work with practice team to co-ordinate key meetings and ensure minutes and actions are completed

- Responsibility for practice health and safety in line with legislation

- Management of chronic disease recall to ensure patients receive timely clinical care and targets are achieved

- Optimise practice financial opportunities.

- Assist our accountant and finance team as appropriate this role does not currently require financial administration

- Prepare payroll for processing by the accountancy team

- NHS pension administration

- Close working with PCN colleague to ensure PCN services are delivered in an optimum manner

- Work collaboratively with other Practice Managers within our group and provide cross site cover where required

- Responsibility for IT systems and liaise with IT team to ensure equipment and training up to date

- Ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation with the assistance of Senior Team

- Ensuring the premises and equipment are maintained in accordance with legislation arranging repairs as required

- Co-ordinatination of practice complaints by responding to administrative based complaints and liaising with the clinical team for those involving clinical care

- Co-ordinate staff learning including mandatory training and learning from significant practice events

- Work with clinical team to ensure infection control standards are achieved and maintained

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working with a busy team to deliver high quality care Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams Experience of working with the general public Experience of performance management including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects

Desirable

Experience of working in a healthcare setting Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development Experience in a GP setting Experience of managing complex accounts

Qualifications Essential

GCSE grade A- C in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Desirable

Further Business or management qualification AMSPAR
