About this role

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Clerical Officer/Receptionist to join the Obstetrics administrative team within Womens Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Working across maternity areas at Leeds General Infirmary and St Jamess University Hospital, you will support all areas of Obstetrics Outpatients department by providing a high-quality clerical and reception service and acting as a welcoming first point of contact for patients, visitors and colleagues.

Main duties of the job You will process patient correspondence and documentation, update information accurately on Trust systems, respond to enquiries and support the smooth day-to-day running of the service. We are looking for a friendly, reliable and organised individual with good communication and IT skills, a flexible approach and a commitment to delivering an efficient, confidential and patient-centred service.

What you will bring to the role You will bring a friendly, professional and patient-centred approach, with good interpersonal and communication skills and the confidence to assist patients, relatives, colleagues and external contacts. You will be reliable, trustworthy and motivated to learn, with a flexible and adaptable approach to duties and working practices.

You will be computer literate and able to work accurately with patient information, correspondence and departmental systems. You will organise and prioritise your workload, work independently within agreed guidelines and contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Previous administrative, clerical or customer-facing experience would be an advantage, although training will be provided.

You will understand the importance of confidentiality, accurate record keeping and delivering a courteous, timely service. A willingness to complete role-specific, mandatory and in-service training is essential.
