About this role

Job summary

Croft Medical Centre are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. You will be working alongside a team of 5 nurses and 3 HCA's in a busy practice, so support and teamwork is always on hand.

Main duties of the job

The role is 3 days a week, flexible on days however working Friday until 1830 would be a requirement.

General practice nurse duties - Smears, immunisations, travel vaccines, immunisations alongside some respiratory knowledge for asthma reviews would be ideal.

Member of the North Solihull PCN which is a collaboration of 5 local practices providing high quality centralised services for the benefit of our patients. ARRS include paramedics, a pharmacy team, FCPs, nursing associate, health and wellbeing coaches, care navigators and social prescribers.

Job description Job responsibilities

To provide practice nursing services to the practice population(s)

Supported by the nursing team within the practice, the Practice Nurse will deliver care within the boundaries of their role and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.

As autonomous practitioners the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision making.

They will focus upon supporting patients to be healthy by assessing their needs, providing nursing care, health education advice, screening activities, monitoring of long term conditions, implementing care at hospital, community or other settings, maintaining clinically accurate records and running clinics.

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths, Registered Nursing Qualification, Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience as a General Practice Nurse, Phlebotomy, Respiratory knowledge / able to perform asthma reviews, Diabetes / CVD knowledge.

Experience Essential

Experience of working in General Practice, Registered Nurse

Desirable

Respiratory / Asthma knowledge, Diabetes CVD Knowledge
