Rotational post in Plastic / Oral & Maxillofacial

Fixed term for 6 months

This post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital in three exciting surgical specialties.

Main duties of the job

In the Plastic Surgery Department, there is a diverse workload; the subspecialties include trauma, elective hand and upper limb, head and neck, craniofacial, cleft, sarcoma, bone infection, breast reconstruction and skin cancer. The post holder will have exposure to both emergency and elective practice - on the ward, in clinic and in theatre.

In Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery the post holder will have a comprehensive exposure to all aspects of elective and emergency Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a tertiary centre including maxillofacial trauma, head and neck cancer and reconstruction, salivary gland surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, dentoalveolar surgery and orthognathic (deformity) surgery. Teaching, training and guidance will be provided to strengthen application towards Core surgical training jobs.

The post is available for 6 months, full time and primarily based at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Full GMC with licence to practice MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

Experience Essential

Must have worked in the NHS in the UK prior to this appointment.
