About this role

This role is eligible for the Campus Services New Starter Bonus* (£1,000) and Campus Services Refer a Friend bonus* * Please note this bonus is pro rata for part-time positions.

The University Hospitality Department provides catering services to students, staff, and external visitors throughout the academic year and into the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the hospitality department offering a wide range of food and drink options.

About the role

As a Food & Beverage Assistant you will be required to ensure that the day to day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times.

Your responsibilities will include

taking customer orders serving food and drink working on the tills stocking food stations assisting with cleaning and clearing tables and catering areas

You will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You will be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.

This is a part-time role working 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) for 38 weeks per year (term-time only)

Hours will predominantly be worked Monday to Friday from 9.30am - 2.30pm or 3.30pm - 8.30pm, but could include early morning, evening and weekend shifts.

Fixed time off that includes your personal holiday allowance is in accordance with the University's annual Academic year chart:

7 weeks off over Christmas and New Year 2 weeks off over Easter 3 weeks off in June (to be agreed with your line manager) 2 weeks off between mid-August and mid-September (to be agreed with your line manager)

Training and uniforms are provided. There are also opportunities for development and to seek promotion in this role.
